Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Revenue Cycle Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Position Summary:

    The Revenue Cycle Specialist provides direct revenue cycle support to assigned regional/business entity. This includes analyzing reports and data associated with revenue cycle performance to identify areas of improvement related to people process or technology. On site face to face interaction with resources involved in revenue cycle tasks to ensure resources have knowledge of process and expectation; coordinating training as needed; act as advocate for process or system change to improve revenue cycle performance.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for collecting, posting, and managing account payments
    • Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper
    • If the claim is denied by the third-party payer, the medical billing specialist must investigate the claim, verify its information, and update the database
    • Processes payments from insurance companies
    • Prepares, reviews, and sends patient statements
    • Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints
    • Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts
    • Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone and correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 3 years experience working in healthcare/dental revenue cycle
    • AA/AS degree in Health Care Administration or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
    • Experience with variety of billing issues involving payers (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance,) including forms, coding compliance and reimbursement guidelines
    • Knowledge of billing/coding/collection practices required
    • Knowledge of medical/dental office procedures required
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and providers
    • Analytical skills to identify key issues from large amounts of detail data
    • Demonstrated ability to recognize opportunity for creating operational efficiency
    • Perform root cause analysis to determine origin of issues with the aim of correction
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to build and maintain working relationship with all levels of staff, payors and other contacts
