Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of revenue cycle operations and a proven track record of leveraging data to drive insights and improve business processes. This role will require 40% travel, with expenses reimbursable, and will play a critical role in supporting decision-making processes and optimizing revenue generation within our hospital setting. This is a Contract role, a hybrid position with travel to Hickory, NC.

    Responsibilities:
    • Conduct comprehensive analysis of hospital & pediatric revenue cycle data, including billing, claims, reimbursements, and patient financial information, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain robust reporting dashboards and data visualizations to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics related to revenue cycle management.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and clinical departments, to gather data requirements, analyze findings, and provide actionable insights.
    • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to identify opportunities for process optimization and revenue enhancement within the hospital revenue cycle.
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and data mining to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes as needed.
    • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency through the implementation of data quality checks and validation processes.
    • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, through written reports, presentations, and data visualization tools.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on hospital revenue cycle analytics, staying abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
    • Travel to the location (up to 40%) to gather data, conduct analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders on-site.


    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors
    • Proven experience working as a Revenue Cycle Analyst in a hospital or healthcare setting, with a strong focus on revenue cycle management.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Excel, Python, R, or similar software.
    • Experience with healthcare data sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims data, and revenue cycle systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, with expenses reimbursable.
