Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of an organization's revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding admissions, pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial analyses to ensure that clinical revenue cycle is effective and properly utilized. Being a Revenue Cycle Director tracks numerous metrics related to the patient engagement cycle including record coding error rates and billing turnaround times to develop sound revenue cycle analysis and reporting. Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials. Additionally, Revenue Cycle Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Revenue Cycle Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Revenue Cycle Analyst

  • Klickitat Valley Health has an opportunity in our Patient Financial Services Department for a Revenue Cycle Analyst. The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing revenue capture by clinical departments throughout the hospital and clinic. This position maximizes charges efficiency through; (1) Monitoring revenue cycle processes and staff functions; (2) Supporting the organization’s revenue capture and integrity through evaluating the accuracy of charge capture and billing functions and staying apprised of payer and/or regulatory updates; (3) Assisting in the design and implementation of charge capture/billing workflow improvements. This position is remote, however the successful applicant must reside in Washington state.


    The RCA Oversees payor contracting, underpayment analysis, reimbursement audits, charge master maintenance and compliance, charge capture, pricing strategies. Ensures that all appropriate billing charges are being captured, documented, charged and reimbursed for the assigned department. Plans and performs advanced price modeling activities for major service lines. May perform special project assignments with respect to applicable regulations and the overall revenue cycle. Credentials providers with the major insurance carriers. Manages credits on patient accounts and create estimates upon request of patients.

    Klickitat Valley Health is a rural, critical-access hospital located in scenic Goldendale, Washington only two hours from Portland along the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. KVH offers emergency and acute inpatient care and a full scope of ancillary services including General Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, PT / OT, Behavioral Health, Dental, Pain Management and Hospice. The hospital also owns a busy, well-established primary clinic that is located on hospital campus. Inpatient care is managed by 24/7 Hospitalist staff. KVH employs over 300 staff.

    This position is remote, however the successful applicant must reside in Washington state.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field required.


    Experience:

    • Minimum three years’ experience working in healthcare finance, preferably in a revenue cycle role.
    • Experience working in a critical access hospital strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with CPSI Financial Information System also preferred.


    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    :

    • Complete charge master maintenance, compliance, and pricing strategies and recommendations.
    • Complete charge capture audits, ensuring charges are being captured, documented, and charged.
    • Performs financial/statistical analyses related to revenue cycle matters.
    • Manage credit balances.
    • Prepare estimates for services and deliver information to patient in a timely manner.
    • Implement patient friendly billing guidelines.
    • Monitor and credential providers with the insurance carriers.
    • May review payor contracts for accuracy and underpayment analysis by performing audits.
    • Facilitates effective relations with payors and providers related to managed care plans.
    • Assists with establishing value-based contracts.
    • Preparation of Adhoc reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
