By joining our Kentucky Department of Highways/District 10/Project Development Branch/Right of Way Section as a Right-of-Way Agent I in Breathitt County, you’ll have the opportunity to research for and prepare documented appraisals, initiate and conduct negotiations of appraisal and offers with owner leading to settlements or condemnations.
Holders of the Right of Way Unit Leader position will complete tasks such as:
- Appraisals
- Make offers with owners leading to approved settlements or condemnation.
- Provide relocation assistance.
- Deliver checks to owners.
Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
- How to research for and prepare documented appraisals.
- How to find replacement housing.
- How to reestablish expenses to displaced persons.
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
- Researching deeds.
- Doing appraisals.
- Working with the public.
- Negotiations of problem solving.
This position will require standing, stooping, bending, lifting, sitting at a desk, and some travel.
