Right of Way Agent prepares organization's need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Right of Way/Rental Housing Inspector to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Perform field inspections for rental housing program
    • Read and examine plans and specifications when required
    • Report violations and maintain files/records
    • Perform other related duties as required
    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
    • Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
    • Ability to work with all levels of management; strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish priorities, work independently in rapidly changing environment, and function as group leader.
    • Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
    • Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • Experience or knowledge in building, rental housing, property management, inspections, code enforcement, ROW, or construction required
    • Ohio Inspector certifications are a plus
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
