Right of Way Agent prepares organization's need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Agent to work on projects based in the Oklahoma City, OK area. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work from their home office and will travel 25% of the time based on project requirements.

    What you will be doing:
    As a Right of Way Agent, you will be acquiring new and/or supplemental easements and other right of way rights for electric transmission lines for local utility companies. You will be responsible for preparing real estate documents, performing property research, ensuring compliance, serving as a mentor to other agents and providing administrative support.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of three (3) years of Right of Way acquisition experience
    • Prior electric transmission experience
    • Oklahoma Notary OR ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
    • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dropbox
    • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
