Being a Risk Analyst prepares reports and presents findings to assist management with decision-making while offering solutions to minimize or eliminate risks. Monitors internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks to continuously maintain maximum protection of an organization's assets. Additionally, Risk Analyst supports managers in risk management or risk model construction. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Risk Analyst work is closely managed. This Risk and Claim Analyst will focus on the support and improvement of the Financial and Reporting infrastructure of the Risk Department and Insurance Program. They will accurately complete financial and administrative duties as assigned
• Serves as reporting liaison between the Risk Management Department and Finance/Accounting• Ensures adherence to company SOP, policies, and guidelines at the project level.• Identifies value adding opportunities for risk management functions• Oversight of Owner Operator insurance administration• Support Policy Renewal Initiatives• Manage/Reconcile policy related invoices• Manage QSI/Self Insurance Reporting• Certificates of Insurance and Auto ID Card administration• Analyze and report financial trends of claim development• Support SOX documentation processes of the Risk Department• Identify value adding opportunities for risk management functions• Risk Reporting including but is not limited to a variety of different reports, (ie: Casualty Loss Runs, WC Loss Runs, Continuous Improvement reports, Reserve Movement reports, SOX Auditing reports, Etc.)• Support RIMS (Risk Information Management System) infrastructure and report development• Non-insurance related reporting which includes but is not limited to Motor Vehicle Accidents, Worker’s Compensation Accidents, Overage, Shortage, and Damage (OS&D) instances, etc.• Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Logistics
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities• Excellent organizational, detail, and time-management skills.• Ability to work with multiple levels of internal infrastructure.• Experience in written and verbal business communications• Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365• Knowledge of Excel required• Understanding of Insurance and Transportation terminology preferred• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills• Analytical abilities to review, analyze, and trend data• Possesses research and investigative skills• Ability and desire to work with limited direction• Must be self-motivating, result driven, and comfortable with change
Education and Experience
• 4-year Degree Preferred• 2 years of related experience • Direct experience in Risk Management, Insurance, Accounting or Transportation preferred
