Being a Risk Analyst prepares reports and presents findings to assist management with decision-making while offering solutions to minimize or eliminate risks. Monitors internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks to continuously maintain maximum protection of an organization's assets. Additionally, Risk Analyst supports managers in risk management or risk model construction. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Risk Analyst work is closely managed.     SWH consists of two acute-care hospitals: Rancho Springs Hospital and Inland Valley Hospital. 

    Inland Valley Hospital

    A 122 bed acute care hospital which features the regions only Level II Trauma Unit and is the county-designated Paramedical Base station and Southwest Riverside County’s only Center of Excellence in Weight Loss Surgery.

     

    Rancho Springs Hospital

    A 120 bed acute care hospital which includes the region’s largest birthing center along with the area’s only NICU in combination with Rady Children’s Hospital and the region’s  first da Vinci Robotic Surgical Program.

     

    As a staff member providing support expertise you will be responsible for providing excellence in patient care and customer service by sharing your talent in your chosen field.  Staff will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SWH Core Values and the hospitals mission statement.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

     

    Ø  Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines

    Ø  Excellent presentations, written and verbal communication skills

    Ø  Proficiency in computer skills with special emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of tools

    Ø  Excellent analytical skills, including analysis, planning, organizing, and troubleshooting

    Ø  Ability to work with minimal supervision

    Ø  Must work in conjunction with staff in a supportive way to troubleshoot and resolve issues

    Ø  Ability to work both independently and as a team member, flexible in approach

    Ø  Excellent understanding of healthcare environment

    Ø  Possess strong customer service skills/interpersonal interactions; ability to handle difficult and angry people constructively; savvy enough to interact with physicians/senior leadership

    Ø  Must be able to address difficult, awkward situations with tact and diplomacy

    Ø  Must be visible to staff, offering support and modeling service behaviors and concern resolution processes

    MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

     

    Ø  Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an acute hospital.

    Ø  Minimum three (3) years’ experience in healthcare risk/quality/medical staff fields or related experience

    Ø  Must have knowledge of current principles of risk management, patient safety and service excellence.

    Ø  Must have the ability to perform duties independently and accurately, including compiling and maintaining complex data and producing timely reports and updates.

    Ø  Must have the ability to handle multiple complex tasks with a high level of flexibility and with exceptional time management skills, and the ability to represent the department with professional appearance and demeanor.

    Ø  Recent experience with audits, chart reviews, clinical management, risk management investigations, and report writing is strongly preferred.

     

    MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

     

    Ø  Bachelor degree in Nursing or related field

     

    REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

     

    Ø  Registered Nurse License preferred

    Ø  Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

     

    Ø  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
