Risk Management Director - Healthcare develops and administers risk management programs. Creates and modifies policies to comply with safety legislation, JCAHO, HIPAA, and industry practices. Being a Risk Management Director - Healthcare coordinates and develops hospital-wide programs for quality patient care and risk-free services. Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals. Additionally, Risk Management Director - Healthcare investigates any incidences that may result in an asset loss. Oversees insurance designed to protect the health system from loss. Collects information related to the claims and lawsuits made against the health system. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Risk Management Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a full time Director of Compliance/Risk Management position in the Houston area.


    Job Description:
     
    Provides guidance regarding State, Federal, and Local compliance regulations that impact the company’s products and business. Will evaluate the level of compliance with company’s internal and external contracting policy, generally accepted operating principles, government contracting requirements and applicable rules and regulations; and will participate as a compliance expert, as appropriate, in committees and groups established to support business initiatives or process modifications and oversee coordination of compliance implementation with other departments.
     

    Qualifications:
    • Must have a high school diploma and at least five years experience in a health-related field or five years of increasing leadership and responsibility in areas of legal services, non-IT compliance and regulatory agency.
    • Previous paralegal experience is preferred but not required.
    • Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree in a related legal field.
    • Can be a newly graduated law student or newly licensed attorney with a desire to work in a health care environment.
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all ages.
    • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Effective written and verbal communication
    • Clean background, drug screen, and driving record
