Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Management Director manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Risk Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week in our Fishkill office. Must be willing travel within a 60 mile radius.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management Training:
- Learn how to build and maintain strong relationships with clients alongside seasoned account executives; understanding clients’ insurance needs, and providing timely and accurate assistance with policy inquiries, coverage changes, claims processing, and billing inquiries to ensure their satisfaction and retention.
Training and Development:
- Participate in our comprehensive Account Manager training program
- Stay updated on insurance products, industry trends, and regulatory changes to enhance knowledge and skills.
Administrative Support:
- Handle day-to-day tasks such as distributing mail, entering claims, billing non-pays, reconciling bills, and processing payments.
- Set up Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for clients, ensuring seamless payment processing.
- Key in quotes with various insurance carriers.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn insurance-specific software.
- Eagerness to obtain a Property and Casualty (P&C) license, with support provided by the company.
Education and/or Experience:
- Rising senior of a four-year university preferred
- Interested in pursuing a career in insurance
