Risk Manager manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Risk Manager reviews and classifies incident reports, conducting incident investigations on a 24 hour basis in accordance with Kentucky State Law. They will maintain the investigative process with gathering evidence, conducting interviews, collecting written statements, and compiling investigative reports. This person will need to conduct on-call duties as required which includes availability for calls after business hours. The Risk Manager assists with quality improvement of facility investigations including quality reviews of performance improvement, Client Protection requirements, and compliance with Licensing and Regulations standards. This person also serves as liaison between facility and community agencies related to incident investigations including arranging for staff interviews and gathering of business documents. They will also prepare and maintain records and reports.
