Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Home Health Risk Manager provides clinical recommendations to the Home Health Director as part of the Case Management function to identify areas for potential improvement in home health operations, safety, and high-risk patient management. Additionally, the Risk Manager provides clinical reviews and analysis of medical records and claims and provides recommendations to ensure compliance, safety, and reduced return to hospital and ED visits.
Bachelor’s Degree and a current Nursing License.
Minimum five (5) years of management or comparable experience in a long-term care setting.
Knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations of long-term care.
