Risk Modeling Manager jobs in Erie, PA

Job Summary:

This position performs administrative functions for Risk Management, including but not limited to developing and maintaining the program to gain greater control over financial loss and accidents. Work is performed under the supervision of the Human Resources Director.

Specific Duties:

• Plans, directs, and coordinates risk and insurance programs to control risks and losses.
• Analyzes and classifies risks as to frequency and potential severity, and measures financial impact of risk to the city.
• Selects appropriate risk mitigation techniques to minimize loss such as avoidance, loss prevention and reduction, retention, transfers and training.
• Directs insurance negotiations. Assists in selecting insurance brokers and carriers.
• Prepares operational and risk reports for management analysis.
• Manages insurance programs such as worker’s compensation, property, liability, surety and fidelity.
• Directs loss prevention and safety programs; coordinates on-line training program.
• Responsible for submitting the annual self-insurance application to the State.
• Prepare and organize the Risk Management Fund Budget. Present budget to City Council during budget discussions.
• Process and pay bills, process all checks received for deposit.
• Organize and attend claim reviews. Assist in claims administration for workers compensation.
• Preform other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement a comprehensive risk management program.
• Experience in casualty insurance, safety and risk management or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgement.
• Excellent skills in oral and written communications.

Qualifications:

• A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the area of business administration, accounting, or related field.
• Two years of experience in casualty insurance, risk financing, safety engineering.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
