Develops and evaluates systems associated with controlling credit risk. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Risk Modeling Manager typically reports to top management.     Description of Work Unit
    The Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department at CSU is recognized both nationally and internationally for its education, research, and service and outreach programs, and is ranked in the top 40 of such programs in the USA. The CEE Department consists of 36 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 16 research scientists/scholars, 27 research associates, and 11 administrative professionals.     Position Summary
    This position will involve utilizing synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR) data to calibrate subsidence models for specific regions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our understanding of land subsidence phenomena and developing effective mitigation strategies. The main deliverable for the position will be publications on the successful implementation of the projects, as well as the code developed to complete the projects.

    Groundwater Modeling: The primary responsibility of this position will be to calibrate a MODFLOW groundwater flow model with subsidence data in southwest Utah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrogeology, experience with MODFLOW modeling software, and proficiency in analyzing and interpreting InSAR data. Responsibilities will include data processing, model calibration, sensitivity analysis, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support groundwater management efforts in the region.

    Required Job Qualifications
    • PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geophysics, or a similar field;
    • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals;
    • Proficiency with geospatial coding in python, R or a similar language;
    • Experience working with remote sensing or groundwater data

    Preferred Job Qualifications
    • Experience with groundwater modeling;
    • Experience with InSAR processing
