The State College YMCA is currently accepting applications for a part-time Rock Climbing Instructor. The instructor will lead the participants through appropriate rock climbing techniques providing personalized attention where necessary, clear and concise instruction, and motivation. Potential applicants should be available on Fridays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Sundays from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

Primary Responsibilities

• Instruct rock climbing participants while assessing each individual’s ability.
• Provide instruction while maintaining high safety standards.
• Convey a positive attitude personalize relationships with members.
• Assist staff in responding to emergencies as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent knowledge in the areas of rock climbing.
• Training, education, experience, or certification in a related field.
