Gray Rock Quarry in Milton, Vermont is seeking a well-rounded individual to operate the rock crushing plant and will be responsible for aggregate production and assist in daily maintenance of the crushing, screening and conveying equipment. The right person will be a responsible and safety conscious person that has mechanical knowledge to operate an aggregate processing plant. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: crushing equipment operation, helping with maintenance and repair, and assisting with daily production duties and crusher cleanout. Pay is dependent on experience. Cutting and welding skills are a plus. Compensation:

$26-$32/hr

Pay rate will be based on factors such as related work experience, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

• Must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Report directly to the quarry foreman communicating production requirements and maintenance needs
• Willing to learn and help where needed at the facility
• This is a full time position with overtime and some weekend work required during peak season
• Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
• Able to use hand and power tools
• Must be able to work outside
• Pre-shift and post-shift inspection of facility
• Identifying and reporting equipment issues
• Help perform general plant maintenance
• Participate in trainings and meetings as directed
• Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2 years prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred; experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance a plus
• Highly dependable
• Valid Driver’s License
• Prior experience operating heavy equipment and machinery a plus
• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs
• Experience in mechanical maintenance
• Process control knowledge

Gray Rock Quarry is a locally owned business that supplies blasted rock and crushed gravels and stones to the local construction market. We operate and maintain crushers and several types of heavy equipment including excavators, haul trucks and loaders to accomplish our production and sales goals.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
