Location: Central, Ohio
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based upon business needs.
Job Purpose: The Residential Market Manager will travel to various residential building customer locations to promote and sell manufactured and distributed products. The Residential Manager is responsible for increasing sales through both new and existing customers. This individual must be technically oriented and, have an understanding of the central Ohio, residential new home construction market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends and competition via networking, associations, publications, and seminars, to improve market relevance and success.
- New Client Acquisition: Identify and procure new business opportunities within assigned region via cold calls, qualified leads, one-on-one meetings, and or group presentations.
- Annual Business Plan Development & Achievement: Marketing Strategies, Product Portfolio Advancements, Contract Terms, Accounts Receivables.
- Existing Client Retention and Development: Be a trust advisor throughout the account relationship.
- Project Management: Work in a team-based model to ensure customer satisfaction from lead through order fulfillment.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in technical and business training seminars, online training, and suppliers’ events for professional development.
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead generation.
- Strategic sales approach managed to company assigned KPI’s.
- Participation in Associations such as BIA/HBA.
- Experience in calling on Residential Builders preferred.
- Ability to do estimates/take offs.
- Customer Service support ensuring on time deliveries and order accuracy.
- Relationship building with key decision makers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Associate Degree in sales, marketing or combination of Education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum (3) years in account leadership. Building materials is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM products. INFOR experience a plus.
- Proactive, team-based philosophy toward client satisfaction.
- Highly organized with effective time management skills.
- High business acumen with excellent, oral, nonverbal, and written skills.
- Technology: Microsoft Office & Salesforce CRM or related.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No internal direct reports. Directs the work of external resources.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing and office environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and dust, while in manufacturing facilities.
Physical Demands:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Works indoors most of the time. Works somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space.
