Job Purpose: Drills through earth and rock by planning and organizing drilling operations; operating drilling and rig equipment; maintaining records, equipment, and safe operations.Duties: * Determines drilling requirements by analyzing drill requests; examining drilling sites and access; taking samples. * Plans drilling by studying prints, sketches, and test results; evaluating soil and rock access conditions, and alternate drilling locations. * Organizes drilling operations by ordering and gathering equipment and supplies; coordinating drilling schedule with other work elements; inspecting equipment; setting up rigs. * Completes drilling operations by operating drills; monitoring progress; adjusting bit weight and rotary speed; changing bits; removing the debris; servicing rig drilling and hoisting machinery * Documents actions by recording drilling data and events. * Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. * Maintains safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment by following organization standards and legal regulations; preventing spillage; wearing personal protective equipment; storing and maintaining hazardous materials. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. * Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications: Verbal Communication, Power Tools, Civil Project Management, Functional and Technical Skills, Action-Oriented, Lifting, Acute Vision, Job Knowledge, Attendance, Attention to Detail, Judgment.
