Position Details:- Job Title: Sheetfed Feeder Tender (5 color press)
- Department: Offset Press
- Location: Rochester Tech Park, 2332 Innovation Way, Bldg 4, Rochester, NY 14624 **Must have reliable transportation**
- Schedule: Full-time, A Shift, 6:00am to 4:00pm Monday - Thursday (work four 10 hour days)
- Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour. Final compensation is based on experience. PLUS, based on the department/position, you will receive paid meal breaks!
- Job Summary: The Sheetfed Feeder Tender assists press operators in the production of quality work for our clients.
- Manager/Supervisory Role: No
- Reports To: Offset Manager
- Duties/Expectations: While duties may vary from day to day, below is a list of general duties you can expect in this role.
- Assist operators in using pressroom equipment including the sheetfed presses
- Responsible for gathering materials needed for the job and loading press feeder
- Clean / maintain work area and presses
- Inform press operators of needed materials, inks, and other supplies
- Directly involved in quality control and production volumes
- Reduce the risk of high-cost occurrences / production errors through quality control
- Continuously work to develop skills and knowledge to become an operator
- Successfully complete all training required by the company
- Be a team player, communicate clearly and respectfully and maintain a positive attitude
- Be dependable, reliable, and consistently perform high quality work meeting company production standards
- Create a safe and hazard free work environment; follow safety protocols and report any risks
- Perform other duties as needed/assigned
- Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures
- Position Qualifications:
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years print industry experience in a feeder/roll tender or machine operator role is required. Electric pallet jack and forklift operation experience is preferred.
- While prior experience as a feeder tender or in the print industry is typically required, we're also open to candidates with proven mechanical aptitude and a background in machine operation.
- Knowledge/Skills: Thorough knowledge of press operations / functions, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, LSS and/or ISO is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required
- Must be of legal working age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years print industry experience in a feeder/roll tender or machine operator role is required. Electric pallet jack and forklift operation experience is preferred.
- Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Works indoors in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility and will be exposed to loud sounds, hazardous chemicals, and equipment on the production floor. Must have the ability to bend, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.; stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods; complete repetitive tasks; operate computers and/or machines (dexterity, bend, stretch, reach, climb, crouch, etc.); and communicate effectively. *Reasonable accommodations may be available upon request.
