Throughout our 41-year history, the company has been able to thrive through both economic booms and economic down turns.
For these reasons we are looking for several qualified candidates to fill the role of Commercial Roofing Apprentice. The candidate will be trained and certified by Upson Company.
The candidate will report directly to acting lead man and foreman of project site.
Requirements
Major results we want to see :
Hours of continual Apprenticeship work throughout first year
Complete understanding our company safety policies
Run one job safety Tool Box meeting
Pass practicality tests for apprentice rating
Pass paper work for apprentice rating
Duties of the position included :
Sign up for the apprentice program within 60 days of employment
Attend the apprentice classes
Complete Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) paper work, Jobsite Hazard Analysis (JHA)paper work
Attend and pass the OSHA 10-hour course
Attend and pass the Man Lift / Forklift / First Aid Certifications
Skills and Experience :
No experience necessary
Willingness to be trained each week in the trade of commercial roofing by foreman and journeyman
Compensation :
Hourly rate based on experience
First 90-day compensation evaluation by production manager
Increases as apprentice level steps are completed
Performance increase as recommended by foreman and or production manager
Benefits :
100% paid by employer group health coverage, Long Term & Short-Term Disability after 60 days. Group dental coverage and vision coverage available after 60 days.
Spouse and family members may be added to health coverage and employer will pay 25% of the premium.
