The Assistant Reservations Manager oversees the Reservationists & day-to-day operations within the reservations department. This includes staff scheduling, running trips, managing the reservations email, answering phones, corresponding with tour affiliates, updating sales, trainings, and bi-weekly department meetings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Know, understand, and practice the objectives of the department.
• Work well with supervisor and coworkers.
• Be familiar with and able to interpret, apply, and abide by all company and departmental policies and regulations.
• Be punctual. Show up to work on time and when scheduled.
• Attend all required company trainings.
• Enter preliminary sales reports into reservations system in the off season.
• Create and distribute monthly sales report updates.
• Assist Sales Manager in tracking year to year cruise patterns and notate any significant changes.
• Prepare and distribute daily trip summaries to relevant departments.
• Reconcile passenger numbers for daily tours at both attractions and submit to accounting.
• Make updates to the reservations handbook as needed.
• Set up and prepare the ticket counter at the start/end of the season; make sure all supplies needed are present & equipment works properly.
• Provide continual training for reservationists throughout the season.
• Identify quantity available for ‘optional’ sales; communicate with tour companies to ensure accuracy in sales and be accountable for actual passenger numbers to maintain accurate numbers for billing purposes.
• Manage and complete ticket outlet contracts in coordination with Sales Manager
• Coordinate School/Senior trips with Sales Manager, Ops Manager, President of Alaska Riverways & Gold Dredge 8.
• Coordinate training/rehearsal runs for our affiliates prior to season starting to ensure the process of receiving our guests is smooth.
• Maintain an accurate boarding pass inventory.
• Answer incoming calls and assist guests with any inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge: Customer service experience required. Knowledge of reservations, sales & ticketing is preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Customer-Service Focus: Must understand that customer service is a top priority and must conduct all actions with this in mind.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Must be flexible and able to produce appropriate solutions quickly, working with other departments at times.
• Attention to Detail: Must keep focused on the small details that have come to define our brand and reputation.
