Title: Food Service Director / Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
Location: Symphony Care Network / Caretel Inns St. Joseph

Job Summary:
Symphony Care Network is looking for high level culinary talent to bring the dining experience to new levels for our residents/guests. One of the most important part of their day is meal time. It is a time to visit with others and enjoy a nutritious and flavorful meal. Our culinary staff is the key to making all that possible.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in development of policies and procedures, and menus, in charge of development of individualized job descriptions, cleaning schedules, and other dietary management tools.
- Assures that proper storage is available, and that handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines.
- Processes new diet orders and diet changes when received from Nursing Service and keeps diet tray cards updated.
- Visits residents to do in-depth initial nutritional assessment and screening, explain diet, record food preferences, and promote a quality of food service. Visits at least one time per quarter.
- Evaluates work performance and gives periodic evaluations to dietary employees.
- Enforces established rules and regulations of the Facility and Dietary Department.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Must be available to work weekends and some holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate with families, guests, and co-workers
- Promote a positive environment and teamwork approach
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks of others
- Hold your Food Handlers certificate and Certified Dietary Manager Certificate
Requirements
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)
- - Must be able to move frequently throughout the work day
- - Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
- - Must be able to cope with physical and emotional stress of the position
- - Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirement of this position can be fully met
- - Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination
- - Must have the ability to work effectively with residents and personnel.
