Title: Food Service Director / Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)

Status: Full Time

Job Summary:

Symphony Care Network is looking for high level culinary talent to bring the dining experience to new levels for our residents/guests. One of the most important part of their day is meal time. It is a time to visit with others and enjoy a nutritious and flavorful meal. Our culinary staff is the key to making all that possible.

Essential Functions:

• Assists in development of policies and procedures, and menus, in charge of development of individualized job descriptions, cleaning schedules, and other dietary management tools.
• Assures that proper storage is available, and that handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines.
• Processes new diet orders and diet changes when received from Nursing Service and keeps diet tray cards updated.
• Visits residents to do in-depth initial nutritional assessment and screening, explain diet, record food preferences, and promote a quality of food service. Visits at least one time per quarter.
• Evaluates work performance and gives periodic evaluations to dietary employees.
• Enforces established rules and regulations of the Facility and Dietary Department.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Must be available to work weekends and some holidays.
• Ability to effectively communicate with families, guests, and co-workers
• Promote a positive environment and teamwork approach
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks of others
• Hold your Food Handlers certificate and Certified Dietary Manager Certificate 

Requirements

• - Must be able to move frequently throughout the work day
• - Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
• - Must be able to cope with physical and emotional stress of the position
• - Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirement of this position can be fully met
• - Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination
• - Must have the ability to work effectively with residents and personnel.
• - Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 3ft. and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet.
