JOB SUMMARY:
The Room Service Server is authorized to coordinate the activities of the outlets staff to deliver quality product and service to Room Service customers.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Set up room service trays and tables in anticipation of incoming orders
• Retrieve food from kitchen, making sure that the order is complete, containing all food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, and condiments
• Push wheeled carts to the correct rooms, delivering orders to guests in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction
• Remove trays from guest floors and return them to the designated location
• Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Must be reliable and responsible
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
• Knowledge of appropriate cart settings, service ware needed for each item, and menu items
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
