Summary:
The successfull Reflective Thinking Room Supervisor candidate will be contracted through EDUStaff, a third party vendor.
The RTR Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Lakeview High School learning environment by providing supervision for students as well as promoting positive behavior choices. The RTR Supervisor will also help students resolve conflicts and promote positive student-student relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage in reflective conversations with students about their behavior/choices.
- Help students solve conflicts using conflict resolution strategies.
- Supervise students withheld from class due to their assigned disciplinary action.
- Maintain an orderly, positive, and appropriate learning environment with the RTR room.
- Monitor student behaviors in the RTR room, redirect student to get them back on track and communicate with administrators when students do not respond to attempts to maintain an orderly environment.
- Communicate with teachers in a timely fashion regarding all student under supervision, including obtaining work from teachers for students assigned to RTR room and returning student work to teachers when completed by students.
- Document and track attendance and discipline information into Skyward Student Information System.
- Assist in implementation of the school policies and procedures.
- Periodically do other forms of student supervision, including supervision of completion of academic work in RTR, or supervision of students in other areas of the building/campus, depending on the student load in RTR.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor or higher degree is preferred. Consentration in Psychology, Social Work or Education is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong positive and supportive relationships with adolescents and staff.
- Successful experience working in a school setting with struggling and/or challenged adolescents is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Experiences with any of the following: Restorative Practices, De-escalation Techniques, Conflict Resolution, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Yoga/Meditation.
- Regular dependable attendance is a critical performance factor to ensure consistent, high quality customer service
Hourly Salary Rate: $20.50 per hour, approximately 35 hours per week.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before staff, students, and community members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must type 55 words per minute. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
