SB Financial Services Relationship Manager develops and manages banking relationships with small business customers to acquire new business, sell financial products and services and grow the portfolio. Prospects for new customers, upsell opportunities, and referrals. Being a SB Financial Services Relationship Manager develops and maintains strong relationships with referral sources. Engages with existing customers to understand their financial needs and provide suggestions for products and services that benefit small businesses throughout the business cycle. Additionally, SB Financial Services Relationship Manager serves as point of contact and advocates for customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide product information. Maintains an in-depth understanding of product offerings and coordinates with other areas of the bank to upsell or deliver services to customers. Monitors and maintains assigned portfolio to ensure appropriate risk profile. Follows all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The SB Financial Services Relationship Manager occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Salary Range: $86,100 - $114,700 annually
    At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards).     Position Summary

    The CSRM role is responsible for identifying and developing new non-borrowing client relationships for Midland States Bank. The role is also responsible for maintaining and expanding the relationships with existing clients in their portfolio that are either inherited or developed by the CSRM. The CSRM is to act in an Advisory capacity with those prospects and clients internally, bringing all the available resources of Midland States Bank to assist them. This role will also function as an Advocate for the clients and prospects inside the bank, pursuing mutually beneficial solutions for the client / prospect and MSB. Additionally, this role will develop and maintain an active network of centers of influence within the market. The focus will be on Service Industries, Municipalities, Not-For-Profits, & Commercial & Industrial opportunities. It is expected that the CSRM role will embrace Midland States Bank’s vision and values, and represent those both internally and in the community in which they serve.

    Primary Accountabilities

    • Proven ability to manage and maintain a portfolio of clients that generate a minimum of $300,000 in annualized Commercial Services revenues (Treasury Management, Merchant Services, and Credit Cards).
    • Proven ability to generate a minimum of $30,000 in new Commercial Services revenues (Treasury Management, Merchant Services, and Credit Cards) on an annual basis.
    • Proven ability to generate a minimum of $3,000,000 in new Commercial deposits annually.
    • Proven ability to maintain and grow their Depository Portfolio annually, including maximizing interest rate spread and minimizing interest expense on interest bearing business depository accounts.
    • Maintain an active list of active self-sourced prospects and conduct well planned and value added joint calls.
    • Develop a comprehensive plan for all clients and prospects on how to refer and bring other MSB resources to the relationship on an ongoing basis.
    • Ability to analyze Commercial Services data, structures, develop and negotiate transactions, and perform on-going Commercial Services maintenance items.
    • Holds Commercial Services Tickler delinquencies to a minimum by processing reviews in a timely manner.
    • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.
    • Provide assistance as a team resource in Commercial Services meetings and activities.
    • Proficiency in applicable computer systems such as programs that pertain to the related position.
    • Maintains current reporting of activities on the available Client Management System.
    • Complete all training as required.
    • Minimum of 25 hours per year in organizational involvement that directly enhances business opportunities for the Bank and supports the Bank’s initiatives.
    • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
    • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
    • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or other related field.
    • Minimum three years of experience in Commercial Services.
    • Successful completion of Bank Training specific to position.
    • Proficiency in job related computer applications.
    • Direct Sales experience of three to five years.
    • Proven success of meeting or exceeding annual goals for the prior three years.
