Saddle Stitch Operator Assistant jobs in Salisbury, NC

JOB STATEMENT:
Assist with set up, operation, and tending machinery that bends metal work pieces according to production schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with measuring completed work pieces to verify conformance to specs, using templates or rulers.
• Examine completed work pieces for defects and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications locations of c-angle.
• Load metal work pieces into machines.
• Set up, operate, or tend machines to bend metal material.
• Assist with starting machines, monitoring their operations, and recording operational data.
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
• Assist with installation, alignment, and locking specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Assist with positioning, aligning, and securing work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
• Keep work area clean and neat.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.

• Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend.
