As a Shelter Advocate at SAFE on Main, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence. The 2nd shift Shelter Advocate is responsible for creating a safe, trauma-informed, and empowering environment within the shelter, offering emotional support, information, and resources to survivors as they navigate the process of healing and rebuilding their lives.

We are seeking a compassionate individual with excellent communication skills who is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness due to violence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and be able to work effectively in an ever changing environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience working in a domestic violence shelter or similar setting.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Familiarity with community resources and services for survivors of domestic violence.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Valid Ohio driver’s license with good driving record.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
