    Description


    The Deposit Operations Department is responsible for the processing of products and services to support front line member operations.  The responsibilities of this position encompass all functions related to Deposit Operations, including(but not limited to); account research, transaction processing, new account reviews, IRA processing, branch cash orders and handling legal requests.  This position will be required to cross-train on several departmental tasks to be able to act as a back-up when needed.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

    • Monitors and audits various daily reports such as: stop payment, new accounts, closed accounts and internal/external transfer requests.
    • Assists branch and call center staff with account inquiries.
    • Processes legal matters such as: Tax Levies, Garnishments, Freezes, Subpoenas, and Summons.
    • Processes branch cash orders and incoming and outgoing wire transfers, including OFAC procedures.
    • Daily mobile deposit and remote deposit balancing.
    • Balances VISA DPS Settlement including G/L entries and member adjustments.
    • Balances ITM/ATM Deposits, withdrawals, and member adjustments.
    • Proofs Shared Branching transactions and process errors and returned NSF/unable to locate/fraud checks through shared branching website.
    • Posts & reconciles manual payroll.
    • Completes ACH functions as well as daily balancing of all ACH files, including processing of all rejected items. 
    • Researches and tests new ACH procedures. 
    • Assists in completion of annual ACH audit.
    • Reports suspicious or unusual activities to direct supervisor or Compliance for review while maintaining a certain level of awareness in areas of regulatory compliance including BSA and loss prevention while adhering to Credit Union’s policies and procedures.

    Other Responsibilities:

    Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Credit Union and the Department to function effectively.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • 5-years prior banking experience in branch or deposit operations
    • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervisory oversight.
    • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced, changing environment and maintain a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
    • Continued education through selected training courses
    • Strong knowledge of financial services industry including operations, risk management, regulatory/compliance requirements and sales and service distribution channels. 
    • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Ability to analyze and quantify the financial impacts of recommendations and actions.
