Safe Journeys is looking for a part-time Partner Abuse Intervention Program Advocate to join our Ottawa team. The position requires evening hours, 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours each night serving as a facilitator.
REPORTS TO: Partner Abuse Intervention Program Director
PURPOSE: To develop and implement partner abuse intervention psycho-educational services to perpetrators of domestic violence in order to end their use of domestic violence and to increase the safety of victims and their children.

FUNCTIONS:PURPOSE: To provide partner abuse intervention intake, orientation, and psycho-educational services to perpetrators of domestic violence in order to end their use of domestic violence and to increase the safety of victims and their children.

FUNCTIONS:
· Provides quality Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) services to perpetrators of domestic violence.
o Provides psycho-educational assessment and educational services to perpetrators of domestic violence.
o Conducts intake/assessment of persons who choose to use domestic violence, assessing their appropriateness for the program.
o Co-facilitates weekly PAIP groups with persons who choose to use domestic violence in a manner that reflects equality with their co-facilitator.
o Ensures professional relationships with clients to create an atmosphere of accountability, responsibility, and support. Confront and educate participants on potential offensive behavior, actions, and language.
o Complies with the all agency policies and the standards of the Illinois Department of Human Services Protocol for Partner Abuse Intervention Programs.
o Provides accurate data and timely documentation for agency and funding source reports and ensures confidentiality of agency information.
o Stays up-to-date on current developments and legislation in the fields of domestic and sexual violence.
o Provides systems advocacy and training.
o Participates in local efforts to improve the community’s response to domestic and sexual violence.
o Serves as agency delegate or representative on appropriate state and local coalitions and committees.
o Promotes the agency, as needed, through public presentations, media interviews, written materials, and special events.
· Other staff responsibilities:
o Knowledgeable of agency and relevant grant policies and procedures.
o Participates in staff meetings, as appropriate.
o Participates in trainings as required by agency and funders.
o Communicates with staff and the public in a manner that reflects respect and equality.
o Assures ethical conduct in business, marketing, service delivery, and professional practice.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
