Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary seeks to hire 2 full time caretakers to provide direct animal care and facility upkeep for more than 170 farmed animals. Must be 21 years old, hard working, flexible, responsible, and show initiative. . Must love animals and be interested in learning about them. Horse care experience, ability to drive a tractor and mower and some carpentry skills are desirable. Vegetarian/vegan preferred. Responsibilities include cleaning barns and paddocks, preparing animal meals according to strict guidelines, grooming and caring for horses and donkeys, ensuring animal comfort, cleaning staff and visitor facilities. Ability to work a varied schedule and weekends a must. To be successful in this role, you should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must have a minimum of one year farm experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test if requested.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and push, heavy wheelbarrows.
• Must have experience with pasture maintenance and green cleaning.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must live within 30 minutes of the sanctuary
• Able to communicate effectively with others both verbally and written.
• Able to work at a fast pace as needed as well as multitask.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
