The responsibilities of a deputy clerk include, but are not limited to: operating computers programmed with software to record, store, and analyze case load information, create, manage, file and prepare a variety of legal documents, generate and forward legal documents, codes documents according to procedures, attend court in Civil, Criminal, Traffic and Family Courts and accurately docket the record to reflect the court proceedings, answer multiple telephone lines to assist attorneys, their staff, the public or any other persons needing assistance from the Circuit Clerk's office without giving legal advice, collect fines and fees, enter payments into the computer system and issue receipts, ability to communicate with the public effectively in person and on the telephone, interpret and understand technical and legal documents, complies with federal, state and county policies, procedures and regulations, and any other duties as assigned.
