Safety Director directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Being a Safety Director provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. Additionally, Safety Director implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. We are seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Field Safety Director in the Central Region. The Field Safety Director is based in Lexington, KY, and will support operations throughout Kentucky and portions of the surrounding states.
The Field Safety Director will provide strategic leadership in safety and training execution in support of a safe and profitable operation that strives to improve safety results. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and sustaining a strong safety and training culture through risk reduction and injury prevention efforts, as well as maintaining compliance to Elliot policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
The Field Safety Director will report to the Central Region Safety Supervisor, and has the responsibility to execute and document safety, training and compliance tasks and initiatives across the region. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with Corporate Safety and Training and Regional Management to identify and lead appropriate initiatives that deliver continuous safety improvement results.
Qualifications/Education/Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate must have the ability to organize and plan, delegate, lead, develop team members through coaching and performance improvement, motivate/effectively influence all levels of the organization, and maintain effective organizational controls.
