Safety Director directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Being a Safety Director provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. Additionally, Safety Director implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Safety Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     JSS Safety & Rescue is actively seeking qualified Industrial Safety Professionals, who are familiar and comfortable with project-based work including experience in the various industries such as New Construction, Pipeline, Manufacturing, Steel Mill, Refinery, and Power Plant.

    Must understand case management and be computer savvy (Microsoft word and excel).

    Minimum Requirements:

    • To be considered, all applicants must have at least: OSHA 30 in Construction and At least 3 years of professional safety experience in the field as a Safety Professional.
    • Any of the following certifications (Is a plus): OSHA 510, OSHA 500, CHST, ASP, and/or CSP
    • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
    • TWIC
    • Eligible to work in the US
    • Physical stamina to stand or travel regularly
    • This role requires 100% travel, apply ONLY if you are willing to travel

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
