Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the safety and loss prevention program for a company's construction department. Ensures that each project site conforms to all applicable safety regulations. Being a Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction is responsible for assigning safety inspectors to sites and ensuring that follow-ups are conducted when necessary. Provides solutions when sites are found to be in violation of safety standards. Additionally, Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience managing professional staff who manage construction or renovations projects and project budgets with a value of $1M or higher.
- Five or more years of experience managing construction or renovation projects from programming, design, construction, to project close out in a correctional or industrial environment.
- Two or more years of experience developing a capital improvement plan for a large scale correctional, university, or industrial environment.
- Sound understanding of state purchasing rules and regulations.
Comments/ Notes:
- This position is based in Forsyth at SOSTC Headquarters and requires a minimum of 50% of the work week in Forsyth. The remainder of the work week is spent in the field on project site visits.
- This position serves as the Manager 2 who manages a team of Project Managers in the Design and Development unit who manage multiple capital improvement projects from inception, design, construction, to completion which includes budget tracking and purchasing responsibilities.
