Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Summary of Responsibilities::
    • Conduct site safety audits and inspections.
    • Complete comprehensive reports of findings including correction plans to ensure compliance.
    • Examine work sites to identify hazards in the workplace.
    • Design and implement safety-related programs.
    • Maintain extensive and frequent interaction with company management, representatives of federal and state agencies and other safety professionals.
    • Responsible for monthly interior/exterior facility inspections (equipment, tools, PPEs, maintenance, fire systems, safety devices etc.).



    Qualifications::
    • OSHA 30 – required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of prior related experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related is preferred.
    • Accident investigation experience.
    • Strong regulatory knowledge in federal, state and local EPA, OSHA, DOT etc. regulations.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Candidates with construction, light rail, wind energy, heavy highway, refinery, and ethanol plants experience encouraged to apply.



    Compensation::
    • Based on experience.
    • Average 1st year earnings = $70,000-$100,000.
    • Opportunity for Overtime.
    • Health and Dental Insurance.
    • Paid Time Off.
