Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Actively seeking 3 FIELD SAFETY REPRESENTATIVES for a construction project in Clarksville, TN.
KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance
Spend 90% of time in the field working with the trades and building relationships
Read and communicate the safety plan to workers in their language
Conduct training and submit documentation of training
Maintain PPE for workers
Ensure all inspection (equipment, tools, cords, rigging, fire extinguisher, etc.) are completed
Ensure new workers attend orientation, have drug screening, and are on time for orientation
Supports field leadership in the implementation of the safety program specifics, such as meetings, committees and related activities well as chairing the project safety committee.
Assists in the investigation of project-related accidents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
Communications skills, verbal and written.
Proficiency in company safety software/programs, processes and tools (Intermediate).
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field (Preferred- relevant experience will be considered)
OSHA 30 Hour training
EXPERIENCE
2 years construction safety experience (Required).
Pay Rate: $28.00/hr
