Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     We have immediate opening for Safety Representatives.

    Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following(other duties may be assigned):
    • Implement the Construction Safety Management Program initiatives
    • Monitor project activities with the review of the construction management team and design procedures, programs, and policies affecting construction safety on projects.
    • Develop and implement safety measurements/metrics for tracking and reporting safety performance of the General Contractor self perform work and subcontractors.
    • Assist in the development and acceptance of job hazard analysis (JHA), Site Safety work Plans, Public Hazard Analysis, and Environmental Management Plans.
    • Engages in Site safety inspections, coordinating corrections with all contractors.
    • Reviews and oversees procedures for the investigation of construction related incidents and accidents.
    • Develop and implement Contractor Orientation procedures for a multi-lingual work site.
    • Management level loss control reviews for all Workers Compensation and GL Claims and Safety Inspections Statistical information to develop and present technical reports.
    • Facilitates all pre-bid/ post award contract meetings to represent the loss control performance expectations.
    • Provide general safety oversight and performance of both administrative and field safety management responsibilities.
    • Maintain the safety and health of all employees of ASC and its subcontractors. · Assist superintendent with preparing safety meetings and daily job analysis.
    • Fix and repair any unsafe conditions when walking site. Assistance from a field worker will be given if the repairs require extensive work.
    • Conduct training for ASC employees, PPE, hand tools, fall protection and more. Keep records of all training.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly inspections. (rigging, ladder, GFCI, fire extinguisher, and weekly audits)
    • Present onsite while ASC employees and subcontractors are working.
    • Maintain communication with the General Contractor with safety concerns that involve ASC.
    • Work together with site ASC superintendent and foreman to ensure they have all safety equipment needed to do their work safely and in compliance with ASC policies.

    Qualifications:
    • Degree in a Safety related discipline or a minimum 1-3years of construction safety management experience
    • Previous safety management experience in concrete is strongly preferred
    • OSHA 500 Authorized Instructor is preferred
    • Bilingual
    • Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required
    • MUST HAVE OSHA 30
