Safety Representative outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. Additionally, Safety Representative has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Safety Representative works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Olsson Industrial Electric, the premiere northwest industrial electrical contractor, specializing in design, installation and maintenance of electrical power systems for industrial facilities, is seeking a full-time Site Safety Representative to work out of our Springfield, Oregon office. This position will be responsible for construction safety, health and environmental protection programs, in order to minimize the potential for accidents, injuries and damage.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following;

Base Salary Range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year, DOE.
Environment:
Work is mainly performed on jobsites, where there may be exposure to noise, chemicals, the elements, uneven surfaces and other hazardous situations. Most jobsites are located in the Pacific Northwest. The will be some work performed in an office setting, in Springfield, Oregon.
Normal work hours are 7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with extended hours as needed for projects and shutdowns.
Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to communicate in person, over the phone and via electronic means. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, see, and hear in order to conduct thorough investigations and avoid hazards.
