Safety Specialist implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Specialist ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Specialist may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Safety Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Description: Position Title: Case Manager – Family Safety Intervention Program Position Summary: This position is to provide case management and treatment linkage on the Family Safety Intervention Program, an intervention program dedicated to individualized assessments and treatment plans for parents experiencing substance misuse who are involved in open child welfare investigations. Our mission is to meet parents in their time of need in order to support their recovery and family safety goals. Provide intake, assessment, and linkage to services for families with substance use treatment needs referred by Child Protective Services. Will assess, plan, and coordinate supportive services to parents and provide case management support. Will collaborate with Child Protection Investigators, Child Welfare Case Managers, and community treatment programs. Services will be provided in an outpatient setting. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Experience with substance abuse and treatment options preferred. Valid Florida driver's license. Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of individuals with substance use disorders, their families, and family systems. Knowledge of community resources or ability to learn quickly as well as good organizational, time management and communication skills. Ability to work well with community partners and in a team environment is essential. Highly motivated, self-directed. Essential Functions/Job Duties: Assume primary responsibility for assessing client and family strengths, challenges and needs of an assigned group of clients. In conjunction with the team, responsible for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals and plans per on-going assessment of needs and input from the client and family. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and appropriately staff presenting needs with program colleagues and community partners. Refers, advocates and links client and family for additional services as identified. Act as liaison and collaborates with community agencies/institutions and support systems to maintain coordination of the treatment process. Maintains client’s chart updated and all documentation entered within established timeframe. Completes all required agency and department trainings. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Case managers are required to work in the field in different environments and are involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., in a behavioral health setting. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some community travel required.
