PRIMARY PURPOSE:                   Assist the Director of People with the operations of the safety department for Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:        Hourly Position that will assist in Safety of the company by providing oversight and inspection of our facilities and operations. Ensure strict compliance with all OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA regulations and guidelines. Ensure compliance of all company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Responsible for conducting onsite safety training. Actively involved in all workplace accidents and their investigations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections of Fuel department to ensure DOT compliance.
3. Assist in developing safety processes for compliance across entire company.
4. Assist Operations Director in EPA filing compliance.
5. Ensure all aspects of company procedures for Confined Space, LOTO, or Hot-Work permitted programs are followed.
6. Ensure all employees are properly trained on all aspects of their position including the hazards associated with that position. This can be done within our Safety Management System, through onsite training or certification courses.
7. Assist Director of People in the responding, handling, investigation and reporting of all equipment or employee accidents, incidents or near misses.
8. Provide safety knowledge to the company about governmental and corporate safety requirements to all employees.
9. Provide safety oversight to all contractors hired by the company.
10. Perform annual audits on facilities for safety and health hazards and provide corrective and preventative measures.
11. Use and teach others how to use all safety equipment including but not limited to air gas monitors, fall protections systems, and confined space entry equipment.
12. Ensure all DOT driver and equipment files are compliant and all driver’s qualifications are up to date.
13. Manage documentation procedures such as housekeeping and preventative maintenance activities and ensure completion.
14. Ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials with proper use and possession of SDS sheets, shipping papers, placards and etc.

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Able to build morale and group commitments to achieve goals and objectives.
2. Exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
3. Project a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
4. Report even minor injuries using the employee injury report form. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
