Safety Specialist implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Specialist ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Specialist may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Safety Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. At Jushi Holdings Inc. ”) (CSE: JUSH) (OTCQX: JUSHF), we are shaping the future of the cannabis industry, the fastest growing jobs sector in the U.S. The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing day-to-day functions for (all) Grower Processing facilities and support (senior) management (to ensure) federal and local legislative compliance, develop and maintain SOPs pertaining to safety (and environmental issues), drive development of an autonomous EHS culture, promote defined Health and Wellness programs, ensure EHS standard operating procedures are enforced, lead initiatives to provide EHS trainings, lead the development (of both) risk identification and reduction awareness and methods, all achieved through employee engagement and participation.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
    • Inspect the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks in conjunction with local teams.
    • Develop inspection policies and procedures, and implement a schedule of routine inspections
    • Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
    • Monitor compliance with safety procedures.
    • Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings
    • Ensure that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
    • Maintain records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
    • Develop and maintain KPIs for monitoring operational efficiency of manufacturing programs and for employees.
    • Hire, train and hold team members accountable to company health and safety standards.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, local and state governing bodies, OSHA, and other relevant worker safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master’s degree desirable.
    • Five years of related experience in manufacturing,
    • Occasional travel.
    • Extensive knowledge of food safety, security and GMP guidelines
    • Enjoys working in a start-up, fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner.
    • Must pass a drug and criminal background check.
    • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
