Safety Specialist implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Specialist ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Specialist may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Safety Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     DiVal Safety Equipment, a leader in the Fire, EMS and industrial safety equipment distribution business, is looking for a Driver / VMI Specialist with a “whatever it takes safety” attitude.  The main responsibility of this position is to provide a safe, efficient and dependable operational support in our Reading, PA branch. 

    Duties and Responsibilities -

    • Focus on safety at all times – safety training and direction must be adhered to at all times - report any existing or potential safety concerns to management.
    • Must complete daily vehicle inspection and make direct supervisor aware of any issues that might require attention
    • Provide accurate and dependable delivery of allocated product
    • Provide onsite Vendor Managed Inventory replenishment of PPE products for customers as scheduled
    • Accurately maintain and record inventory levels at each customer location
    • Work as part of a team, reporting directly to the Warehouse Management team out of Greensboro, NC as well as working in conjunction with the Sales and Services team

    Skills and Requirements -

    • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills
    • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
    • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clear driving record as defined within the DiVal Safety Equipment’s Employee Handbook
    • High school diploma / GED equivalent 
    • Experienced and comfortable with operating a 26’ box truck for deliveries
