Safety Technician jobs in Bakersfield, CA

We’re looking for a new member of our team that will put the customer first, perform their duties with enthusiasm, and grow our business. As Safety Service Technician, your primary responsibility will maintaining our rental fleet and repairing customer gas detection equipment. You’ll also maintain and repair other safety equipment including: fixed wireless gas detection, supplied air and self-contained breathing apparatus, generators, mobile showers, and more. Additionally, you will travel to customer’s locations to repair instruments and deliver product. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, personable, and meets the following expectations:

Expected Duties:

• Manage instrument repair lab including all instrument repairs and quotes for repairs.
• Process warranty paperwork and manage customer repairs in an organized and efficient manner.
• Perform field calibrations and repairs of instruments.
• Inspection, service and repair of in-house and field safety equipment (gas detectors, breathing air equipment, etc.).
• Provide respiratory fit testing for customers.
• Pull orders and stock warehouse (shipping & receiving).
• Daily deliveries of product to customers.
• Fabrication and cleaning of safety equipment.
• Maintain relationship with customers.

Required Work Experience: * Customer Service : 1 year

• Oil and Gas: 1 year
• Gas Detection Repair and Calibration: 2 Years
• Computer Savvy

Preferred Skills & Education: * Customer service and salesmanship.

• Trained in calibration and repair on most major gas detection instruments.
• Working knowledge in safety industry (OSHA, CAL OSHA, NIOSH standards etc.).
• Proficiency common computer programs (MS Office, Quickbooks, Salesforce)
• Excellent maintenance knowledge and experience with fabrication tools.
• Excellent organization and attention to cleanliness.

Requirements: * Must be 18 years or older.

• Must have valid class C drivers license & clean DMV record.
• Upon employment must pass urine drug screen and breath alcohol screen.
