Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. Being a Safety Technician may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     Job Description

    • Organize, repair, maintain/clean equipment.
    • Support the daily maintenance of all vehicles (Maintain fluid levels, tire pressure, good housekeeping)
    • Pulling and preparing orders to ship to neighbor islands.
    • Provides help to staff and customers when necessary.
    • Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, company, military and port policies and requirements
    • Read and develops familiarity with excavation/shoring standards as specified in the 1926 subpart P.
    • Partake in monthly inspections for fire extinguisher, first aid kits and other safety-related inspections
    • Must know how to use basic tools such as tape measure, drill gun, hammer, pressure washer and other required tools needed to perform the required work

    Qualifications

    • 21 years or older
    • Able to pass a Drug Test and Background Check
    • Clean drivers abstract
    • Must have the ability lift up to 50 lbs
    • Must have a High School Diploma/GED 
    • Ability to acquire and maintain DOT Physical
    • Basic literacy, able to read, write and record routine data and information
