Safety Technician inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. Being a Safety Technician may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Training will include:
Install, repair and maintain fire protection systems and related equipment
Program and test life safety and security equipment
Knowledge of current state and local codes and regulations
Requirements:
Ability to work with minimal supervision and work on your feet for long periods of time
Strong customer service skills
Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly (climb ladders, operate lifts, sit, stand, bend, kneel, vision acuity and manual dexterity)
Valid Drivers License
Ability to work in sometimes difficult positions like climbing ladders, high lift equipment, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to pass background check and regular drug screens
