Sales Administration Director develops and directs the sales data analysis function to deliver reporting and tools to sales teams and management that ensure effective sales execution and the achievement of growth objectives. Deploys CRM and other systems to manage customer and activity data. Being a Sales Administration Director develops monitoring and methodologies to analyze sales metrics and to provide insights, support decisions, and highlight areas for process improvement. Directs research efforts to understand market conditions and competitors. Additionally, Sales Administration Director may enable training activities that will ensure sales teams understand and effectively utilize systems and reporting resources. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Sales Administration Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Sales Administration Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Administration is a part of the senior leadership team and collaborates with our active Board of Directors. The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager leading the organization’s finance, accounting, budgeting, and additional administrative areas. The Director of Finance plays a critical role as GMGI continues to enhance its quality program, build capacity and achieve ambitious goals. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a rapidly growing, high-impact organization.

    Essential Areas of Responsibility

    Financial Management

    • Provide accurate and timely financial reports and analysis for the internal management team and Board of Directors.
      • Communicate, collaborate and present effectively critical financial matters to GMGI’s Board of Directors, participating in bi-monthly Board meetings and committee/subcommittee meetings.
      • Lead periodic Audit, Finance and Risk Committee meetings of the Board together with the Committee Chair.
    • Oversee and implement yearly and ongoing budgeting process in conjunction with the Executive Director, including monthly review and monitoring. Provide finance support for new program development activities.
      • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
    • Supervise the Accounting and Operations Manager, and related workflow including cash receipts, disbursements, payroll, monthly closings, and other general accounting functions.
    • Ensure a clean annual audit process and tax return preparation.
      • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Academy’s annual financial reporting requirements for state licensing.
    • Manage the organization’s grant contract management and financial management systems, ensuring adequate external reporting to granting agencies and effective internal reporting and cost management.
    • Update, implement, and ensure effective internal controls and procedures.

    Facilities, Technology & Administration

    • Manage and ensure maximum efficiency of GMGI’s risk management and insurance programs.
    • Oversee, with Executive Director, administration functions including benefits evaluation and administration.
    • Coordinate with IT vendor and oversee organization’s IT needs.
    • Lead administrative functions including facilities management to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business is required, and an MBA/CPA or related degree is highly beneficial.
    • 7-10 years of professional experience with broad financial and operations management experience.
    • Work in a non-profit setting is valued with expertise in non-profit accounting and budgeting.
    • Strong analytical skills, leadership and management with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, motivate and collaborate with others.
    • Ability to design, create and implement operational systems, policies and procedures.
    • Technology savvy with knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
    • Highly self-motivated, team player with positive attitude and sense of humor.

    Work Environment and Other Requirements

    The Director of Finance and Administration is based at GMGI headquarters located in the heart of the historic harbor, at 417 Main Street, Gloucester, MA, and has one direct report. A generous benefits package is provided and salary is commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
