The Director of Finance and Administration will be a strategic thought partner, and report to the CEO.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager, providing leadership in the following areas: finance, human resources, administration, and IT.

The Director of Finance and Administration will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision-making and operations. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a highly respected industry leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management:

• Prepare and present monthly financial statements
• Oversee all financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, insurance, etc.
• Implement and monitor internal controls
• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
• Manage a contracts management system
• Facilitate Government contracting
• Maintain, update and implement necessary business policies and accounting practices

Human Resources, Technology and Administration:

• Further develop AK Preparedness’ human resources and administration, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training and recruiting
• Ensure compliance with multi-state labor and enterprise regulations
• Ensure adequate and appropriate insurance coverage and risk management
• Manage internal and external resources to support a robust and secure IT infrastructure
• Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.A., ideally with an MBA/CPA, related degree, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7-10 years of overall professional experience, ideally 5 years of broad financial and operations management experience
• The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting, and has previously overseen a human resources function
• Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
• A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills that support sound decision making
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of AK Preparedness
• Experience working for small to medium-sized businesses a plus

This is a full time, 40-hour/week, exempt position that requires working at least 3 days a week (5 days to start) in our light-filled offices on the Ship Canal near the Fremont Bridge in Seattle.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
