    The Senior Sales Operations Analyst will support strategic decision making and planning through analysis and enhancement of analytics and KPIs in support of the commercial organization. Analyses for sales operations pertain to sales reporting and analysis, sales forecasting and demand planning, Business Intelligence administration and support of best practices, pricing and margin analysis, compensation development, as well as ad hoc analysis as required.  This position will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Accounting, Contracts, Customer Service, Technical Service, Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing and Sales teams to enable commercial leadership to make effective, analytically driven, and strategic operating decisions.  The Sales Operations Analyst will build and execute on compensation programs that increase sales effectiveness.  This position is also responsible for helping manage the Customer Relationship Management tool in support of the CRM Specialist and Power BI in conjunction with IT.

    Where is the work:
    This position is virtual.

    What you will do: 

    • Promotes Trane values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work, management of internal/external relationships, actively seeking out and participating in Continuous Improvement practices, and willingness to engage and support team initiatives.

    • Sales Reporting and Analytics - Create and distribute a wide breadth of standardized and custom reports and analyses.  Reports and analysis should be completed in a timely manner with a high level of quality and be easily understood. These reports must be adapted over time as selling conditions/environment changes.  Track and explain variances to plan and budget.  Migrate standardized reports to Power BI enabling customers to pull data as needed.  Determine the most effective way in which data can be presented based on user’s needs.  Become subject matter expert for Power BI.

    • Forecasting & Demand Planning – Manage the bookings forecasting process from end-to-end beginning with the annual budget and funnel management to be translated into a demand plan for manufacturing.  Emphasis on delivering accurate forecasts on a regular basis for financial reporting and planning.  Development of annual bookings plan to serve as the basis for the revenue and profit plan.

    • Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects – Create required reports and analysis to provide decision support for management teams.  Examples include trend reports, customer reports, customer segmentation, ROI on marketing promotions and campaigns, etc.

    • Process Improvement – Continuously review and improve current processes and reports to find more efficient ways to update reports and share information with stakeholders.

    • Pricing & Margin Analysis – Perform pricing and margin analysis to assist sales and management in setting pricing.  Work with management to develop pricing strategies for multiple channels and purchasing organizations.  Ensure that changes in pricing are communicated and updated in all systems.  

    What you will bring:

    • 7 years in analytical role required. Support of sales or marketing in analytical role preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or other analytical/ business fields. MBA preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, if/then statements, nested functions, vlookups, formulas). Microsoft Dynamics CRM and BI experience preferred.

    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams inside/outside the department to reach common goals; open to and solicits diverse views and opinions from others; breaks down barriers to build consensus.

    • Ability to apply professional and technical expertise to identify innovative solutions that meet department and business needs.

    • Ability to clearly communicate quantitative information to all levels of the company.

    • Excellent financial analysis skills with a good understanding of how to manipulate data for analysis and reporting

    • Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail

    • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills oral/written communication

    • Ability to understand intricate financial business problems and help determine appropriate solutions

    • Experience in managing multiple reports and diverse priorities

    Compensation: 

    Total Target Compensation: Range $90,000 - $111,000 

    Total Target Cash represents a mix of fixed base salary plus payment from sales commissions.  Sales commissions plans are uncapped plans.
