Sales Director directs sales organization operations and develops the tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. Being a Sales Director oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base. Additionally, Sales Director uses market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs. May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sales Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Sales Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    The Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas Arlington South, is looking for an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing. If you're ambitious and passionate about hotel sales and want to be a part of a great team, submit your resume today!

    • Directs the activities of the hotel sales team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, catering/banquet services.
    • Develops and manages the departmental budget and monitors sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan; accurately reports variances/projections.
    • Directs the scheduling of conventions and group activities at the hotel and coordinates with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
    • Completes 25 or more solicitation calls per week?
    • Develops hotel-level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.
    • Develops and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attends out-of-town conventions to generate convention and group business.
    • Documents all sales activities into Sales Pro in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Assists General Manager in the development and update of the hotel-level business plan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the company. Maintains an effective business plan.
    • Develops the revenue portion of the budget.
    • Recruits, hires, trains, and provides career development for all sales personnel; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees using company hiring standards and guidelines.
    • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
    • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Fulfills Manager on Duty shifts.
    • Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

    Qualifications


    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • -At least 4-6 years of previous Director of Sales & Marketing experience in full service hotels
    • -Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and or relevant computer applications required
    • -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
    • -Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
    • -Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing, effectively deal with internal and external guests and provide overall guest satisfaction
    • -Ability to work flexible hours
