Sales Director directs sales organization operations and develops the tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. Being a Sales Director oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base. Additionally, Sales Director uses market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs. May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sales Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for selling optical transceivers and related active/passive optical components. This role requires driving sales opportunities for the organization through a variety of direct marketing and sales techniques. Including but not limited to; cold calling into assigned Enterprise prospect companies to gather information and qualify leads, perform detailed market research/analysis, conduct sales presentations, manage a sales pipeline (Salesforce.com), and actively manage existing Enterprise clients. This role will be remote within the United States.
